Antennas // 17m Band

17m Antennas.

Relaxed, contest-free DX at 18 MHz — 17m blends 20m's reliability with 15m's sparkle, without the weekend pile-up wars.

The 17m band at 18.1 MHz is many experienced DXers' favourite place to operate. As a WARC allocation it carries no contests, so the band stays civil all week; propagation sits usefully between 20m and 15m, opening for long transatlantic and transpolar stretches even in middling solar conditions. Rare DX often appears here first, worked by the stations that were paying attention rather than the ones with the biggest amplifier.

A monoband Yagi on 17m is an uncommon luxury that pays for itself quickly. Our 17m LFA designs bring the same closed-loop, low-noise architecture as the flagship contest antennas, scaled to a band where a clean pattern and a quiet receiver matter more than brute size — and where a modest boom still delivers commanding performance.
