Antennas // 10m Band
10m Antennas.
From summer sporadic-E to solar-maximum F2, 28 MHz swings from silent to spectacular — and it is the widest HF band of all.
No HF band has 10m's range of moods. At solar maximum, 28 MHz carries worldwide F2 propagation on milliwatts; every summer, sporadic-E fills it with short-skip across the continent regardless of the sunspot count; and its sheer width — 1.7 MHz from 28.0 to 29.7 — leaves room for CW, SSB, digital modes, beacons, satellites and FM all at once.
That width is the design challenge: a conventional Yagi tuned for the CW end can be struggling by the FM segment. It is exactly the problem our OP-DES architecture was created to solve — opposing-phase driven element ends that hold a flat match across the entire allocation — while 10m LFA designs serve operators who want maximum performance concentrated in the DX segments.
From compact three-element beams to long-boom contest weapons, 10m is one of the deepest parts of the range.
