Antennas // 70cm Band

70cm Antennas.

The 432 MHz band is where boom length pays — tropo ducting, EME and satellite work all reward the gain a long UHF Yagi can carry.

At 432 MHz the physics turn in the antenna builder's favour: wavelengths are short enough that genuinely long booms — in electrical terms — fit on ordinary towers, and the gain they deliver opens up the band's best work. Tropospheric ducting carries 70cm signals hundreds of kilometres across sea paths, contest activity is strong across Europe, and the band is a mainstay of both satellite operating and EME.

Precision matters more with every megahertz, and our 70cm LFA Yagis are machined and specified accordingly — element lengths and spacings hold the design's pattern integrity in practice, not just in simulation. For moonbounce and serious weak-signal stations, the low-noise closed-loop feed compounds across stacked arrays, where receive performance is the whole game.
