Antennas // 4m Band

4m Antennas.

A European speciality at 70 MHz — 4m mixes sporadic-E fireworks with quiet tropo on an allocation much of the world never gets.

The 4m band is one of amateur radio's regional treasures. Allocated at 70 MHz across the UK, Ireland and a patchwork of European countries — and almost nowhere else — it behaves like a bridge between 6m and 2m: summer sporadic-E arrives reliably and dramatically, while the rest of the year offers steady tropo and meteor-scatter work for a close-knit community of specialists.

Because so few manufacturers take 70 MHz seriously, much of the band's activity has historically run on converted or compromise antennas. Our 4m LFA Yagis are designed for the band from the ground up, with the closed-loop feed's low-noise receive proving especially valuable on a band where signals are often just above the grass.
